Chateau Teyssier 2012
€ 28.95 Short description
Very full-bodied red Saint Emilion Grand Cru of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Lots of red fruit and spicy notes characterize the odor. The taste is full and powerful with refined tannins and the aftertaste is very long.
Extensive This is a true classic with a modern touche. Englishman Jonathan Maltus early nineties has been the source of the "garage movement" in the region. The moment a new generation of winemakers decided to go on a small scale highly concentrated and rich reds do in Saint Emilion. Since then, Jonathan and his wines are hailed. This is his signature wine of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. The Wine Advocate: "This is the home estate of Jonathan Maltus Made in a seductive, charming, fruit-forward style, the 2012 round and medium-bodied with notes of black fruits, loamy soil, underbrush, licorice and vanilla It.. shouldering drink nicely for 7-8 years, 88-90 / 100. Lovely transparent color does not give a hint to the heavy handed fruit of the negroamora grape. I was not familiar with this Puglia style, but I am quickly becoming a fan. Received through the WSJ site at a great price. Definitely looking forward to the next bottle. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like violet. It tastes like black currant (cassis). The body is light/medium. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.
