Getting some nice mature and grape specific notes, but it's all overshadowed by the oak and the alcohol. Had higher hopes for it, as it was nice when young, but this was a bit sad.
I think this is past it's prime, onwards the alcohol and oak are just gonna grab more attention.

Some fine deposit, medium (+) intensity lemony-gold.
Quite high intensity on the nose. In development, showing its age with some tertiary aromas. Some funk, grilled lemons, some toastiness, probably from the lees. Minerally. Very nice, but of course not as fresh or blossomy as I remember the young wine.
Bone dry. High acidity, higher than I remembered. Like freshly squeezed oranges, not hard, just very fresh and mouthwatering. Low in alcohol. Medium (+) body, it has grown in the cellar. Flavours of lemon and other citrus, some white unripened apricots, all delivered with lots of fruity richness. Complexity from the ageing, toastiness. Oh, I love the acidity!
It's been almost four years since I last tasted the wine, and back then I was really impressed and thought the wine could handle some time in the cellar. Tasting it now it seems I was correct, the wine had aged beautifully and can definitely handle more time in the cellar. Problem is I'm not sure if I like it better as young or aged!
I really need to get my hands on more of this great wine.

2016 Suertes del Marqués Vijariego Negro Valle de la Orotava Cruz Santa

Short note.
Nice and expressive, fruity and vibrant. Very, very volcanic; like drinking ash. Then a bit natural funk, but not too much.
