This was the first Texas wine I tasted that I would go out of my way for (not the last). It has character. That means complexity and a tang that is identifiable.

Frontenac is a Minnesota temperature-hardy grape. This wine is medium-bodied, velvety, with a distinctive nose and slightly tangy finish. I compared with a far more expensive Frontenac at a winery, and the Crow River was excellent value.
