Way overripe. No margaux character. The only things saving it from a lower score are relatively fine grained tannins and respectable concentration. But the balance is simply not there and I cannot recommend it at any price.

Finally opening up. Dark, leathery and stony with sweet perfectly ripe fruit and brown spice. Ripe tannin and refreshing acidity. As in you wouldn't want any more acidity than this. Not the most delicate wine in the world, but very enjoyable. Another 10 years may be required to reach true peak.

In the famous words of Francois Audoze "I put a bottle of Petrus 1928 on the table and people expect angels to jump out of their mouth. But then they realize it's just wine". Wine is just a fun and delicious thing to spend your free time obsessing about. It shouldn't be taken too seriously. And of course you shouldn't expect angels to fly out of your mouth. Although I must note that I may or may not have said that drinking La Romanee 2015 was the unique sensation of angels fucking frenetecially in my mouth, there was no flying so there you go.
