This wine made from the Ramisco grape has nothing to do neither with a subtle Burgundy, nor with powerful Brunello. This wine is a typical Nebbiolo varietal from Barbaresco, but unripe, in its youth, with drying your mouth to the leash and young tannins. It's also unclear what is the food pairing for this wine. You would barely drink it on its own. I understand this is not a typical example of Portuguese wine that's why it's not as cheap. However, try to bring it to Piedmont and taste it along with simple Langhe for $20 that will probably beat it.

Add some gudron or acetone on the palate and you will get a classy Barolo. That's why it's a proverb that Burgundy and Barolo are cousins. The wine will live easily another 5-6 years so please ignore 2017 in the description section. Lush structure, red fruit and dry herbs make this wine big and food-friendly. It is a great pleasure to drink it now.

Black fruit and red fruit intermingle in the glass, but the wine remains too sweet until the very end. After an hour, it opens up a little and seductive black current leaf dominates the palate but for the short period of time. My score is 89.
