Deep, though translucent, ruby in color. Cherries dusted with pepper on the nose. Somewhat absent on the mid-palate, though showing its strength with a nice mouth coat and some biting tannin. Returns with a strong, medium length, black-peppery finish. Not enough body or complexity for meat meals. Certainly a welcome complement to chicken, fish, or pasta.

This wine is mevushal, i.e., it was flash pasteurized in order to accommodate wider use among Kosher consumers. Mevushal wines generally age far faster than their non-pasteurized counterparts. This wine, however, displays the remarkable longevity which is characteristic of wines produced from Hagafen Cellars, even though it is mevushal. Blackberry and forest fruit on the nose, with a luxurious mouth feel and still noticeable tannin. A lengthy pleasant Dr. Brown's black-cherry finish. Gives the impression that it was once a more complex wine, but still holding up for drinking in the next 1-2 years.

Opened with unique graham-cracker cinnamon/allspice nose, these giving way to stewed plums and a bit of smoke and white pepper. Medium smoky finish.
