Worked through 2 bottles in extended family dinner; Well received by all. Balanced, almost elegant (as Cali Syrah go, that is...) nose of dark fruit with meaty undertones. Palate was initially tight but after an hour or so softened considerably and was very balanced. Structure is present but not dominating; These are drinking well now but will easily last another 3-4 years and hopefully develop some secondary nuances.

Initially tight; with 2 hours of air nose was very open with Deep, pure red fruit and a nice floral note. Clearly ripe, but still very expressive and energized. Medium-full bodied on the palate; still tight and needing several years to soften. Finish lengthy. I don't have enough experience with Barolo to know how good this really can be with time, but it is very promising.

Classic ripe Barossa aromas with Bacon, Blue & Black Fruit predominating, always staying short of any over-ripe character. With air/time the bacon subsides and very pure, clear black fruit dominates. Layered, full bodied mouthfeel with a lengthy finish lifted by considerable acidity - There was clearly acidification here. To me a very typical example of the big barossa Shiraz style.... just missing the complexity of the big boys.
