Definitely near the end of the line. Almost sweet upon opening; the combination of a ton of black and red fruit flavors with the relative absence of that dry, tannic backbone at this age was noticeable. Still, the quality of the wine showed through, as the sweet fruitiness mellowed into something a bit more integrated over the course of a two-hour meal. Thick and dark looking; a slow, viscous coating of the inside of the glass; plenty of sediment. If you have any of this left, now's the time to drink it.
