Casa Baloyan is one of Mexico's newer producers, its 1st vintage has created lots of buzz around the nation, with many wine afficionados calling it the best wine ever produced in Mexico. The 2008 Casa Baloyan vino tres tintos, is a blend of Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, and Merlot. This is their lowest priced wine at $275.00 pesos = $25usd. The other more expensive wines from Baloyan are the Cabernet Sauvignon reserve, a Malbec, and another blend. The 2008 Vino tres tintos is a stunning wine at $25usd, i personally consider this wine the biggest bargain ever offered by any Mexican winery. The wine is impeccably balanced, elegant, and very long. The nose is huge, beautiful, with strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla notes. 20 months in brand new french oak barrels. This wine has once and for all proven that Mexico can make top quality wines at competitive prices. And finally, i do agree, Casa Baloyan if it can manage to maintain the quality shown here, is indeed, the best winery in Mexico, ever.
