A well matured Rioja. At the opening it was soft on the tannins a hint of stables, blood, fruit and just a scent of vanilla. BUT despite its venerable age it needed to be aired! After about 30 minutes of decanting it revels all the flavors. The vanilla was palpable as well as the smell of it's full body, stables, blood and fruitiness, and now even grass tones.
Visual impression: Its brick red color reveals an aged, mature wine. Fragrance: Stable, barn, cherries and a touch of tobacco leafs. On the palate: Low acidity, good balance of tannins, complext. Notes: Pleasantly surprised that the wine held its complexity through the entire dinner, good body, high intensity, a pleasant wine.
