Dark garnet/ruby color; rather closed-in nose which opened somewhat with aeration (did not decant). Still fairly tannic and, hopefully, merely young. If the tannins don't settle down, they'll continue to mask what fruit there may be. Fairly oaky, traces of cherry, leather, tobacco. Probably better with beef. Will wait another year before opening another bottle.
