Interesting wine. Complex nose of earth, must, forest floor, and green twig. As it warms up in the decanter, hints of plum emerge. Black cherry, blackberry, subtle leather on the tongue followed by spice into the long finish cut short by the ever present tannins. Fabulous old world wine. Very young now. Will become fabulous.

The nose gave away this was a cab. The expected dark fruit and oak filled your glass. However, the wine was not complex on the pallet. Rather a single note with medium body that fell off into a watery finish. Great wine for casual drinking as the tannins were soft. This one won’t win any prizes.

Green apple and pear on the nose. Green apple and pear with subtle spice on the pallet that linger into a long finish. The mild buttery mouthfeel hits mid pallet. Good balance of acid to compliment lighter dishes. Great with Brie.
