I opened this and let it decant for about an hour. It opened up remarkably with the wine washing the palate with dark fruit and berry flavors and just a hint of orange citrus. There were strong notes of earth, mushrooms and spice on the finish but it is not overpowering. This brunello is very good and would be great served with beef or lamb or with a meaty stew or soup. It should age very nicely.

I visited the L&L tasting room back last summer. Bought a nice selection of their wines including this 2012 Cabernet. This wine has an incredible nose that hits with spice, earth and wet stone. It sits in the glass with a dark red color. It is light on the front palate with some fruit and spice but it glides to the middle palate with tobacco and pepper spice and with dark fruit and berries. The finish is not powerful but it does sit with blueberry, raspberry and has a spicy character that lasts for minutes. This Cabernet has much more spice and earth than most Cabs that give it a versatility when matching with food. This would easily pair well with blackened or spicy foods. All in all a very nice cab that you can drink now or put back in the cellar for a few years.

I am a big fan of Andrew Murray. I received a couple of bottles of the Viognier in a shipment of wines from their wine club late last year and opened one tonight. It is a very nice, crisp wine. The nose is floral with honeysuckle and rose petal. It hits the palate with a citrus acidity and it has a pleasant minerality. It flows across the palate with hints of apple, plum and peach and has a very nice sweet finish of white peach nectar with a hint of tartness. This would be a very nice wine for warm spring days.
