You can smell the crispness and red fruit the moment you open the bottle. A slight earthy aroma settled as the wine was able to breath. The first sip presents a deep, very ripe raspberry taste with an overtone like dry autumn leaves. The acidity added a pucker to the taste, and it went down smoothly with little burn in the throat. Beautiful to pair with a red sauce.

With a sip of this wine, it was difficult to not continue to fill the glass.
It showed a rich ruby color with tawny edges in the glass. The aroma of ripened plum and pepper preceded a softening to wild raspberries on the vine.
Tasting revealed blackberries and plum in a warm, velvety texture. Very smooth and easy to drink. The tannins gave a nice grip and hint of vanilla. The acidity was medium, and finish was short and left a light impression, making it easy to take another sip, but gone too soon. I may have opened it a bit past its prime.
Great wine that I'll have again soon.

A deep ruby merlot with a heavy scent of plum and petroleum, mellowing with exposure to air to a deeper, earthy tone. The flavors were of black cherry and plum, with a heavy dose of pepper. Heavy tannins and richly acidic would make this a great complement to a prime rib. A good wine that may be better with more age.
