Maybe it is just way too young, but I found the oak and cedar notes to be a bit overpowering on the nose and the palate. Don’t get me wrong, this is a well made wine, but there was not the balance I was looking for. Maybe the oak will integrate over time. Put this one in the back of the cellar and don’t pull it out until 2025. I preferred the second label Le Marquis when we tasted side by side as it is already accessible. Tasted at the winery.

I must say I am a bit partial to this one. We visited the Château yesterday and Emeline Borie (daughter of the owners) showed us around. She has been the must gracious and Humble host thus far on our trip through Bordeaux. IMHO, GPL deserves to move up from its current 5th growth classification. Now that’s out of the way, the 2015 is still quite young. Dusty tannins round out an excellent mouthfeel. Fresh and a bit tart red and black fruits. Accessible now only with food, or feel free to hold for 30 years+ if cellared properly. Great QPR. There are many excellent places to choose from In Pauillac, but I will make every effort to come back here if given another chance. Hold
