14.5% ABV. Decanted, but not sure if will improve; out of the bottle, it’s a bit rough. Tannic, rubbery notes on the nose and palate. Some spice and prunes. Getting a bit of wet dog. Maybe will come together later, but not great now. Day 2: the rubbery, wet dog notes have given way to overwhelming allspice and clove. Not balanced and not for me. I don’t think it’s corked — I’ve had other vintages from this producer that tasted similarly; not sure what’s going on here. Won’t purchase again.

Getting better the longer in the bottle. 14.3% ABV, medium body, ruby red. Spice, vanilla, cherry, strawberries, herbs; nice tannins, ripe berries, dark cherry, herbs, and cream on the palate. Very good.

Similar to the 2001. Leather, licorice, garrigue, earth, stewed plums. Shorter middle and finish; more leather, licorice, and dark berry flavors on the palate. Has held up well with good storage. Still decent acidity. 13% ABV. Opens up well with short decant. Great QPR.
