Had this from a magnum for NYE. Never tried this producer, nor the 2001 Champagne vintage before.
A proper pop and plenty of bubbles left even after pouring. The color is yellow gold. Initially light flavors, but really opened up after warming up a bit in 30+ min. Brioche, with some acidity and citrus notes. It feels it could still carry for another 5-10 years, but really yummy now already! I wish I had some more in the cellar.

My first time opening a bottle of Cristal. Still a loud pop at opening, with a creamy mouse and bubbles at pour.
Color of the wine is dark amber. Huge contrast between the gold colored label and the liquid inside.
Initially nose was quite tame, but it started to open up over time. Tiny bubbles present at each sip, with amazing flavors from the beginning. Still a bit of youth and energy, with intense vanilla flavors as well. Long finish.
Enjoyed at cellar temperature over 1h - 1,5h.
One of those bottles you'll remember forever and one of the best wines I've ever had. Glad that I have a few more Cristals in the cellar, but unfortunately they are much younger vintages.

The cork still pops off the bottle. At initial pours bubbles still visible in the glass, but almost non-existent in the end (in about 1.5h).
Color light amber. Nose has vanilla, slight toastiness. First taste still has some acidity. As the bottle (and temperature) evolves you start to get definite honey and slight citrus notes. The structure holds up. Great, aged champagne.
My first 1979 champagne.
