  • 2021 McKahn Family Cellars Viognier Late Harvest

We created this dessert wine for you to enjoy after dinner with your favorite cheeses or enjoy a glass on its own for a delightful digestif. Mouthwatering aromas of candied citrus, lemon curd, ripe stone fruit, bananas foster, and amaretto envelop the glass. The palate is weighty with apricot and peach reduction notes and a long, luscious finish.

    Wine Profile
    Vineyard Notes
Landa Vineyards sits on the east side of Sonoma Valley on the western facing slopes of the Mayacamas mountains. The gravelly topsoil and eroded volcanic bedrock are perfect for Rhône varietals including viognier. The combination of site and expert vineyard management directed by Paul Garvey and consultant Larry Bradley truly make this a fantastic vineyard to source fruit from.

    Production Notes
Harvested at 33 brix and 360 g/L sugar content. Whole cluster press to tank for a two-day cold settle. Racked off primary lees and inoculated with yeast. Barrel fermented in neutral oak barrels and aged for 6 months before bottling. Fermentation arrested at 10.5% alcohol, and 140 g/L final sugar content at bottling.

  • 2020 McKahn Family Cellars Syrah

Ripe plum, blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry preserve start this wine off in an extremely decadent direction. Syrah’s trademark violet and white pepper complement the fruit characters and a subtle hint of black licorice becomes apparent as time passes in the glass. The palate is richly textured with blackberry and black cherry flavors dominating the fruit profile. A creme de cassis and bittersweet chocolate reduction balance the fruit and tannin nicely.

    Wine Profile
    Vineyard Notes
The rolling hills of the Carneros American Viticultural Area straddle both sides of the southern Napa and Sonoma counties. These Syrah grapes are situated on the Napa County side, a few miles west of the city of Napa on Old Sonoma Road. Carneros is a varied appellation with many distinct microclimates, and this site is particularly unique. The vines are perched on a rocky west facing hill with optimal sun exposure throughout the growing season. This vineyard is also in the northern reaches of Carneros and benefits from a warmer growing season than the southern parts of the appellation closer to San Pablo Bay.

    Production Notes
Destem to stainless steel tank and ferment on the skin for 14 days. Aged in 30% French oak and 70% neutral oak for 18 months. Racked once off malolactic lees and left to rest in oak undisturbed for the remainder of aging.
    (Winemakers notes)

    TECHNICAL DATA TA: 5.6 G/L pH: 3.88 ALCOHOL %: 14.5% CASE PRODUCTION: 150 MSRP: $75.00
