SuperBowl 2009: 3 of us drank the DRII then some '05 Papillon and '06 Prisoner. No decant. The DRII had upfront spice with fruit emerging from behind it. Almost shirah like, initially. Soft nose. Medium body. Very enjoyable from the beginning, and smooth. Fruit opened up nicely during the evening. The males' favorite was the Papillon, but the female's favorite was the DRII.

First night -very grippy, puckering tannins. Almost too austere for me. Fruit was a bit reticent, but nice nose. Palate a bit one dimensional. 2nd night, much better as tannins quieted down and fruit opened up. 3rd night still better!

Needs more time. Nice fruit and balance, though. Smooth. My first Lede.
