Village level wines from CLF clearly punch way above their level & are a great value find. This wine was drunk over 2 days & given it's need to breathe a Zalto burg glass was the only thing which could tame it's unbridled youth, again it's very clear CLF made super wines in 2016.
Stunning colour, the nose is authentically Vosne offering soy, pine forest floor & farmyard and unequivocally red berry & garrigue notes. However the length is shorter than one would like and it lacks the detail & focus of some of their peers, so we are drinking it way too you as others have observed below. Freshness is there & the oak has integrated nicely. I think it has clear 92094 potential but please sit on it 2-4 years.

Liking the domaine and their work a lot, this wine is atypical. Terroir d'Exception was a quarry on the edge of much-vaunted "Les Perrieres" 40 years ago hence the BB classification. I was expecting more of a linear, defined and balanced wine. Instead it's very stone-fruit, soft and lacks acidity and freshness one would expect in a 2017. It is a very pleasant aperitif and will pair well with white fish but lacks the weight and complexity of their Meursault offerings, which are generally great insider wines.

Passetoutgrain or Coteaux de Bourguigons as it's increasingly marketed gets a bad wrap. This is a perfect "lunch wine." Fresh, inviting nose. Rippling dark fruit is somewhat one dimensional hence the lunch reference yet the fruit is reined in by a lick of salinity which mirrors the secondary oyster shell on the nose. The unrestrained joy of the 2017 vintage is plain all to see. Sometime it's nice to just open a bottle, enjoy and not overthink it.
