Though thoroughly modern in style, and perhaps not the sort of wine that I like to pursue, this wine is undeniably pure, concentrated and complex. On the nose are aromas of berries, vanilla, espresso and black pepper. On the palate are very concentrated flavors of blueberry, vanilla, mocha, and spice, with nuances of mint, pencil shavings and minerality in the background. Though this is very ripe, and quite oaky, perhaps to the point where it is quite hard to taste any varietal characteristics, this wine is very well structured; the mid-palate and the finish are linked seamlessly and the wine always sees poised and fresh. The acidity level is nice, never does this wine seem heavy or overdone. One thing that should be noted is the softness of the tannins; though they are fine --however, not exceptional, they would suggest that this wine does not have the stuffing to age. I'd drink it in the next between now and 7-10 years, preferably with red meat. Very Outstanding.

A very well made wine, with ample fruit and concentration, this wine has aromas of blueberries, blackberries and oak. On the palate, the wine is a bit more nuanced, with flavors of blueberry, black pepper, and espresso coming to the fore along with the vanilla-like oak flavors present on the nose. The wine is well-balanced; the wine is buttressed by a nice acidity and the tannins though not too firm, give the wine just enough structure to this very plush wine. My only complaint is that the wine was over oaked, very over oaked. In short this wine has very little semblance to a grenache-based; I would have guessed blind that this was a modern-style Ribera del Duero, or even a New World cab. Typicity aside, this wine is still quite nice, especially for those who prefer modern/international styled wines.

Wow! This is a really lovely wine, full of intrigue and nuance. On the nose are aromas of honey, pear, marmalade and lemon. On the palate are flavors of tangerine, honey, apple all underpinned by prominent minerality and a lovely acidity. The poise and balance of this wine is really terrific, with the ripe fruit marrying with the high acidity. A great wine to pair with fish or chicken dishes.
