This wine is a good value and great cellar defender at $15. Low tannins, medium acidity, and balanced fruit notes. This would be great as a pre-dinner bottle with guests or paired with leaner red meat. Cellared for two years. 75% Malbec, 19% Bonarda, and 6% Petit Verdot.

Opened this by accident after it was in the cellar for two years. No idea what I paid or where I bought it. Ate with a ribeye cap steak which paired very well. One hour decant - even then very tight still. Opened up eventually to some earthy notes. Less than 20% Cab Franc but it was really showing through. Tannins very grippy still. This could stand to do another 3-4 years. I’m not a huge Merlot person but I would love to revisit this wine after some more time or a longer decant.

All around excellent wine. Picked up from Wine Access in 2021 and forgotten about in the cellar for a couple of years. Enjoyed over the course of a few hours. Really opened up after about one hour. Perfect balance of fruit and acidity. Tannins have begun to mellow some but still quite strong. I would suggest drinking now and not holding more than 1-2 years.
