  • 2021 Domaine Maillard Père & Fils Bourgogne

from our wine store: : The 2021 vintage is shaping up to one of elegance, finesse and complexity and the Pascal Maillard’s entry level Bourgogne Rouge is easily the best under-$30 Bourgogne Rouge on the market right now. it is impeccable balanced, offering the perfect weight. Earth-tinged aromas of wild strawberries, violet & rose petals, red raspberry, and orange zest are highlighted by hints of tea leaves and a strong mineral core attributed to the limestone-laden soils of Chorey-Les-Beaune. On the palate, the wine offers superb weight and balance, a tribute to Pascal’s technique and winemaking prowess. The wine’s elegance and finesse on the palate is balanced by a real depth of flavor offering a beautiful interplay of savory herbs and bramby fruit. The finish is long and inviting, with real persistence and complexity

  • 2014 Niepoort Conciso

From our wine store: With an already 8-years of bottle age, the 2014 Conciso pours an elegant ruby color, akin to a countryside French red or Pinot Noir. Developing earth-tinged aromas leap from the glass led by a bouquet of dried violets petals, wild berry fruit, mint, red cassis, a touch of clove, hints of cedar (NO NEW OAK!) and a core of rocky, granitic minerals. A unique style from the Dão, Conciso offers a subtle concentration on the palate, with a mix of fresh/dusty fruit, dried floral notes, silky tannins, mouthwatering acidity, and impeccable balance (only 12% abv). The wine is silky, elegant, and vibrant with a long yet delicate finish offering notes of subtle pipe smoke, sea salt, dusty dark cherry, and minerals. A perfect wine for the warm weather ahead! Best served in a large Burgundy glass to appreciate the wines full personality. It just keeps getting better and better in the glass. It will pair with an array of different cuisine, from cured meats/cheese plates to game hens, to lamb chops to earthy grilled mushrooms.

  • 2019 Rene Rostaing Syrah Les Lézardes

From our wine store: Sourced from various parcels from the northern edge of the vaunted Côte Rôtie appellation. The 2019 expression of “Les Lezardes” Syrah offers nuanced aromas & flavors of earthy raspberries, smoked salt, bacon fat, musk, pepper, garden herbs and brambly berries. A terroir-driven example of French Syrah this wine is all about elegance and finesse. The intense core of brambly fruit is balanced by fine tannins and an underlying current of acidity. The finish offers complex hints of cured meat and smoke; displaying the same complexity of proper Côte-Rôtie
