Also reviewed this last year. It is even better now. Pale yellow. Pronounced nose of ROSEMARY, wildflowers, honeysuckle, mild citrus, almonds, peach, pear, and, did I say ROSEMARY. Wow! High acid. Strong minerality. Lucious mouthfeel. Long finish. A truly outstanding wine. I'm revising my "drink latest" date to 2030, and that is being conservative. This vintage was one of 12 wines to earn a spot in the Governor's Case at the 2022 prestigious VA Governor's Cup competition. Since 2016, Barboursville has earned gold medals for its Vermentino Reserve for eight vintages and placed it in the in the Governor's case six times! It is a steal at $23 a bottle at the winery.

Clear color. Not as grassy as most New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. Moderate acid. An easy drinker. paired well with roasted chicken with a light, dusting of salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika.

A bit off-dry, thicker mouthfeel than expected; more of a Cali style than VA. It is ready to drink now. As with another reviewer, I doubt it will improve with age. Easy and pleasant drinking on its own, just not my style. Nothing like the drier and more ageworthy 2019 vintage.
