2015 Paul Jaboulet Aîné St. Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes
4/6/2024 - WojteG Likes this wine: 93 Points
A single vineyard Sarah from just 1.5 hectare parcel.
10 000 pounds of minerals and herbs in the smell. Also cedar, red cherry and black currant.
Taste? All the characters I mentioned above! What else? Sweet black cherry and blackberry, licorice , cranberry.
Tannins are grippy, acidity is juicy. The finish is soft and not too long. Great, very juicy, sophisticated, not boring everyday wine.
A 2015 vintage in St.Joseph got 97 points according to the WA Vintage Guide. Extraordinary!

2016 Château Fleur Cardinale

2 weeks ago I had a 2004 vintage and I liked it 93 points.
How about this younger family member. 3 hours in the decanter 🕙⏰🕐
Well, wine like this makes me realize that I don't know much about wine. Powerful complicated, complex.
Judging by aromas I would say it was Right Bank CS. But this is 78%M, 18% CF and just 8% CS! But sweet aromas of black cherry, plum, and blackberry are dominant here. Smoke, tobacco, earth, spice, cassis, vanilla and who knows what else...red cherry for sure.
Taste? Very juicy and fruity
Again - black fruits, minerals, black chocolate and who knows what else.
I lost it, but it's delicious with an incredibly long finish - not too sweet, not too dry.
Balance, balance, balance.

2015 Quarta Generazione Aglianico del Vulture
4/3/2024 - WojteG Likes this wine: 90 Points
Interesting Aglianico!
2 hours in the decanter.
8 years old wine and I think it's ready to go.
Smell - minerals, graphite ( very nice combo), vanilla, mint, milk chocolate, cedar, oak. No fruits?! Hmm...one more sip. I don't detect any, red or black, but it doesn't mean the aromas are boring. Quiet the opposite!
Taste? Oh yes, we have sweet flavors of black cherry, red cherry, and blackberry, milk chocolate.Spice here and there and not too much more. It doesn't mean that the wine is boring. Quaite the opposite. Very juicy.
Nice balance, very enjoyable with long bittersweet finish ( green olives here?)
Decanter - 88 points
