Last opened a bottle 2-3 years ago and this was significantly better tonight. Flush with sweet cherries and borrowing from another note, some wild strawberries. Loamy mid palate. Bright but smooth tannins. Amazingly paired (not intentionally) with braised teriyaki chicken. Sweet and savory but more towards the sweet spectrum. Medium length.

4/13/2022 11:52:00 AM - I'd also be curious your opinion of d'Angerville Volnay Cru----2018 vs 2019 and Champans vs Ducs. Usually I buy the Ducs but 2019 notes suggested Champans overdelivered. Prices also jumped for both wines so I'm wondering if 2018 is a better value since most all of Burgundy is seeing 2019 price increases, or if in the case of d'Angerville, the 2019's are truly worth the extra coin. Regards, Ardeis.
