Lustrous crimson chromatics enliven the bowl with dense leg formations (it's 15% alc but not overpowering). Seductive aromas of crushed hibiscus potpourri, white pepper, and dried cherries. Plush and velvety tannins transform the wine into a figure skater gliding across the mouth with super concentrated raspberry and red licorice fruit that finishes with a distinctive barrel aged Giuseppe Giusti balsamic umami that lingers in the mouth. Absolutely stunning!

Shades of golden raison color the wine glass sending up beeswax and verbena aromas laced with Tepache (fermented pineapple). The palate is rich with stewed fall fruit (persimmons marmalade) yet zesty with acidity, a touch of citrus pith, and a streak of chalk. Near unctuous mouthfeel. What a joy!

A pungent nose with the unmistakable scent of passion fruit and a faint hint of cilantro leaf. The soft palate leans lush with an herbaceous character of fresh-cut dill and a gentle grapefruit acidity. I happen to have the munchies right now and reached for some multigrain crackers and a somewhat unremarkable soft-ripened Italian cheese to tide me over when, lo and behold, after washing it down with this wine, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the tangy barnyard funk of the cheese which this wine brought out. Lesson learned: this wine will not reveal its true potential unless paired with the bloomy rind of a soft cheese (even a dull one).
