Bright translucent red. Red cherry and raspberry on the nose with some subtle bacon fat. Very good acidity. Well balanced. Enjoyable, but a little one-dimensional. Long, slightly tart finish.

Golden color; Nose a bit tight on the first day eventually opening up to sweet cantaloupe and citrus. On the palate, citrus dominates (lime on day one giving way to more lemon on day two) with either peaches or melon. Crisp with very good acidity. Dry but certainly not austere. If I were to taste this blind I would guess it was Sauvignon Blanc. At $8+tax an excellent QPR. Seems to need some air--significantly more expressive on day two.

Dark, almost inky in color. Black fruit with some raspberry on the nose together with a slight whiff of alcohol. Initial attack coats the palate, shows some sweetness and gives a sense of dense extraction and power--new world style. Pepper and dark fruit on the mid-palate giving way to a rather abrupt, tart finish accompanied by a tad of alcohol. Noticeable tannins, but enjoyable now. Good acidity. At $5+tax, I cannot fault this wine. It certainly holds its own against wines which are twice the price.
However, on day two, the alcohol takes a more dominant role both on the nose and on the palate and detracts substantially from this wine.
