Savory and full-bodied. Smoky intense spice dominates, with a background a blackberry and hot dog. I also eventually noticed accents of forest and eucalyptus. I could see someone more into this intensely savory style scoring it more like 88. Couldn't be more different than this brand's thin and fruit-driven 2013 Tempranillo.

Not a good year for this wine- tart and lacking in ripeness. The acidic red fruit notes are semi-palatable with food. Did open up and smooth out slightly on the second day.
