I was so disappointed by this wine. I purchased 6 bottles after reading the glowing recommendation on a mailing list from a local retailer. The heavy discount should have sounded alarm bells but I was sucked in. The wine is so linear and very acidic. The nose is overwhelmed by alcohol. I was shocked so after the initial tasting I opened a second bottle and decanted for 2 hours. Marginal improvement, it is sweet and again, there is no complexity to the wine whatsoever. I cannot drink this wine.

I like this wine, but I think it needs more time to 'round' it off and develop. Really light, berries and huge finish of spice but also some harshness to the tannins. Its a great Shiraz, I had it only after some cheese and olives etc, I think accompanying the right meal the palate would be more forgiving of the tannins. I have ordered 6 for the cellar. I want to try the SV, reportedly fantastic.

Upon opening (screwcap) nose of plum and berry. In glass, smelt berries, plum and a lot of spice, maybe mint. First taste again, spice and pepper right through. The oak is delicious. Its quite light and reasonably short on the palate, but the mid is that nice, smooth oak and finishes spiceand pepper. Really nice wine for an absolute steal.
