Cline is a go to cellar defender of virtually all red and white. It's like traveling the world and knowing what you will get at Starbucks or McDonald's etc. Nothing fancy. Just consistently authentic quality of whatever varietal.
This Viognier... Intensity is medium clear, yellow. Peach, pear, lemon, grapefruit, green apples on the nose. Pineapple and mango, too. A little grass mixed in. Acidic but balanced nicely with a 30 second plus finish. There's little if any structure here, though a nice medium bodied white.... But it's a drink soon wine.
Tonight was a Potlatch rubbed Pacific salmon, of which we have usually had a buttery oaky chardonnay. But this Viognier, was a very pleasant accompaniment! Certainly we've had Rieslings as well, but they're often a little "rich" for this fish.
******Has anyone other thoughts on wines to accompany salmon?? Love to hear about it in the commentary. Thanks very much in advance!! 🌞****
I could easily give this wine a higher grade, but, at less than $20, I think it's gotta be 80's at best. Even if I like anything, Cline.
Consuming the second bottle shortly after the first one, consequently no new information to add. It is sportingly priced with some nice tropical notes.

Cline is a favorite of ours as it is a very nice facility to visit: friendly, welcoming staff, no tasting fee, and open on New Year's Day. All of which really has nothing to do with the quality of this bottle. It is a pretty nice viognier with those characteristic tropical notes, a lightweight in this class and pretty simple, but then note the price.

Pineapple, medium body, crowd pleaser. Moderate sugar.
