On the approach path of its final run. Good, certainly mature, with a fair amount to admire now. Drink up now or in the next few years; acids seem waning. 9,5% abv. recommended

A rich Kabinett for Karthauserhof. Has some bass notes coming through to complement the peach, red currant, and lime. Will probably still be drinking well at 15+ years old.

PnP, served non-blind. Still remarkably fresh. Pale straw, bright. Engaging aromas of peach, stone, melon rind, ripe apple, spices. Medium-bodied, with vibrant acids and soft, inviting orchard and creamy stone fruits. This has evolved, and is in its sweet spot now and for several more years. Good typicity, with sweetness in check. Medium+ persistence, delicious, clean flavors. 9,5% abv, drink thru 2019. recommended
Held since release, cork soaked 2/3. Final bottle in next 3-5 years

One of the better 2005 kabinetts to date. Surprisingly delicious and somewhat viscous full carry through on the tongue, well balanced with medium citrusy acid backbone and a nice softer palate of orange zest, lemony flowers, cumquat(less pronounced)--overall a delight. Second day, held its own an absolutely scrumptious

(Eitelsbacher Karthausherhofberg Kabinett) I remember in May at the tasting I thought this was the best Kabinett in the room full of other Rudi Wiest 2005's.. The nose was more closed this time but still gave off floral aromas and wet stone with hints of fleshy peach and apricot. Great acidity and length on tha palate with a velvety texture. Really stunning Kabinett and one of the great values of the vintage.
