This seemed to have been bottled a while ago, as there was quite a bit of sediment/crust that adhered to the sides of the bottle. Sweet and rich, but seems like it could have benefited from more acids. Raisins, honey and butter. Soft and a bit cloying. I question the storage of this wine and suspect it was sitting on the shelf of the wine shop for a long time.

Reminded as of a madeira on first note, with a sweeter, easier more approachable side. Definitely the aromatics were closer to a madeira than a muscatel. Dried fruit side to it, nutty at times. Interesting wine for sure. Apparently they have stopped making Moscatel Roxo. 90

Like a very rustic, rough-textured Madeira; like Tawny with amped-up acidity and a thicker mouthfeel. Glad to have tried it, not compelled to do it again.

At X-L's. Very sweet as expected, but much more simple than the 2010 bottle, though I wouldn't have expected age in bottle to have had much effect.
