Decanted for aeration 1 hour, consumed over 2 days, day #1 showing the best. Well balanced, with lots of mouthwatering acidity and bright fruits. A bit of funk that takes some time to blow off, but it was quite welcome and did not follow through to the well textured palate. A great bargain at just $11, drink thru 2013.

good dried dark cherry fruit with some complexity; a bit too much vanilla; smooth bodied and paired well with with onion/chard ravioli topped with arugula pesto; good weekday wine;

Ripasso, blue red but not a very deep color. Both nose and palate was very muted, with only hints of vanilla and dried fruits. Corked it and decided to use it for cooking the next day if noting good happened. Well it did, much better the 2nd day. Full of vanilla,raisins, prunes and herbs, on the palate lots of chocolate, almost too much. Ok wine for about 10$, but I wouldn't buy again.
