Decanted off of zero sediment. Deep, bricky garnet color. Nice nose of white pepper, black cherries, and a woody note that became a very pleasant violet note after about 45 mins. of air. Pleasantly racy on the palate, medium-bodied and sleek with plummy notes. Finishes very well, with low grip, near-zero tannins, but impressive length. This bottle gives me hope for other wines from Bokisch; it definitely repaid cellaring.

Exhibits blackberry, black peppercorn with guava undertones. McIntosh apple and toasted oak flavors. Bieg expressive tannins allow for long finish. Traditional style Rioja blended with highly prized Graciano. Will age nicely through 2016.

International Tempranillo Day Tasting (Washington, DC): Cream and butter coat the dark, sour fruits on the palate. I also picked up some raw meat on the nose, and even some sweet fruits at the end. Overall, a quality wine -- fruit forward and very smooth.
