Nice color and nose. Rather elegant for a Gevrey. On the palate, ripe red and dark fruits, but quite primary and tannic. It needs more time to reach its potential.

This is a nice step up from their basic Gevrey. More polished and sophisticated. A little flat on the first night, but really singing after 24 hours on the counter. Cassis and pine resin on the nose. Mostly blackberry fruit on the palate with good iron component. Some tartness on a long finish. I continue to be impressed by the elegance of the DL wines.

Drouhin Laroze, M. Ilan, old Sauternes & Ports (JV's): Ruby in color. Light nose. Some confectionary sugar, some cherries. It starts of sweet on the palate. Cherries. This one left me wanting a bit. Nothing wrong, but just needs more.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. Did not taste like burgundy. It was flat. The wine was not bad but didn't show like a burgundy.
