I’m amazed. Usually not a fan of Virginia wines. But, I found this one in the cellar and set it aside to try. Fantastic color. Good fruit. A tinge of vanilla and butter on the middle palate. Good alcohol content. Kind’a exactly what Jefferson would have imagined could be produced in VA.

(Williamsburg Winery Cabernet Franc Trianon) Very dark ruby color; tart berry, tart currant, French oak nose; ripe currant, tart raspberry palate with near medium acidity and firm tannins; needs 3 years; medium-plus finish 87+ points (with 15% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot)
