Generally a good wine, yes! Nice dark fruit, rather rich. But then again, no outstanding deeper layers. Simply dark fruit. Hence, a bit disappointed. If the wine would be sub 20 EUR, this would be ok. Would give it a 91 rating, but that is it. Not sure if this will improve much over time, although acidity and tanins are of course still rather vivid.

Plenty dark in the glass, the nose is somewhat subdued, although reasonably complex, with plum, spices, and quite a bit of oak. The palate continues with the subdued theme, with some secondary notes of chocolate and dark spices. The fruit is still understated, though, and the acidity is relatively low. At only $18, I can't be too unhappy, but this is not a wine I would go looking for again. This is the second Alfio Moriconi selection I have thought was not particularly outstanding.

Decanted an hour to have with beef stew. Flavors of plum, dark berries, touch of cedar. Medium body with velvety smooth tannins. Quite enjoyable and great QPR at $20. Will definitely seek out a few more bottles.

Excellent CdR; ripe raspberry and cherry notes, a touch of earthy spice. Not as complex as their full-on Chateauneuf (this is declassified juice from that project; likely subpar barrels), but for the price it's excellent and definitely worth a taste.
