Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Cork was soft and the corkscrew pulled through on the first attempt but we managed to pull it out intact and in good condition. Dark purple color with just a very little bit of bricking. Virtually no sediment but fine particles were visible in the wine. Beautiful cedar and menthol with maybe a hint of black currant on the nose. On the palate, silky and smooth with the same flavors that were showing on the nose. Tasted very fresh and vibrant. Very nice 15 second finish. Tannins fully integrated. I don't have a lot of experience with aged Cali Cabs but this one was superb and was a great match with the sirloin skewers that we had with it. Not a lot of complex flavors so not a big score for this one. Fruit is definitely secondary at this point, so I'd say that this is ready to go and should be consumed sooner rather than later.
