2 hour decant. Nice nose of earth, cherries and leather. Taste was pretty mixed at first then mellowed as the different grapes settled down and seemed to blend. This has room to age and I'll try another this fall. It should move into the 90's then. We had with Lamb Ragu and was a nice match. Good food wine. I looking to pick up some of the 2012.

I have never understood the label "Super Tuscan," and this wine is billed that way by the makers. But forget that: This is a very nice bottle that is both delicious and interesting. Decanted 30 mins. ahead. Medium-deep garnet color. Very nice nose of earthy spices, black cherries, red fruits. Clear cherry fruit leads over tobacco flavors on the palate in a medium-bodied package that is definitely delicious. It reaches nice acid balance, tart but not by any means too tart. Finishes very well with orange peel, light tannins, and surprising length. It could improve with a couple of years in the bottle. This wine raises the question: Can you be seduced by delicious fruit, complicating spices, and a just-firm-enough acid structure? Some critics can't; for my response, see the number.

A Taste of Field Family Wines: Dark ruby color with appealing fresh cherry, black currant, and black tea aromas. On the palate, it's medium-full bodied with lively acidity, a supple texture and dusty tannins. It's shows black cherry, plum, black currant, vanilla, and spice flavors. Medium long finish.

Drinking wonderful right now. Going great with Chicken Cacciatore and handling the spice from the Harrissa that we added.
