Cameron Hughes 2013 Pinot Noir: Popped and poured—if tasted blind, my first guess would be Syrah. This wine is fuller-bodied. Aromas and flavors of dark berries, tar, bacon fat, and hints of violet ride a complementary backbone of acidity, with sweet mid-palate richness and grip on the finish. Underlying bright red streaks and a trace of cola, found in some examples of Pinot, emerge after some time in the glass. I have 3 more bottles, so I’ll have to bag one and taste it with friends. Under $20

plenty of good fruit and you notice the oak; easy drinker, but would have guessed that some merlot was added in.

Simple pinot noir, that is enjoyable to drink and a good QPR

Much better than the last bottle. A smooth, fruity finish.
