Less impressed than I expected, given the regions that contributed to this Shiraz (including McLaren Vale Clare Valley and Frankland River). Marzipan and dark fruit, quite acidic, with smooth tannins and slightly rough mouthfeel.

With the bottle freshly open, a little sour, but it softens quickly enough. Fairly distinct banana hint when freshly open, more noticeable than blueberry or anything like it. This isn't a big fruity Shiraz like Barossa, for sure; blueberry never dominates, it's only suggested. I didn't get any pepper or mint. Acidity stays tingly, but the wine doesn't get sour for me, after 5 hours of air. Tannins are somewhat firm and long, and commingled with a stemmy note. It's decent and pleasant drinking, reasonably smooth, if anything the acid interfering more than tannins. My mouth tingles longer than the tannins keep it feeling dry. It's OK value at 17 GBP all taxes included. Not sure I'd buy again.

Sweet black plum, cassis, violet and licorice vanilla pod on the nose. Spices and peppery notes are very subtle. Beautiful fruit focused wine. Not too forward and heavy like a straight Barossa Shiraz. Palate showed more spicy characters and fresh blue fruits nuance in the mid-palate. Finish is deep and somewhat tannic for now. A touch more richness than a similar Clare Valley Shiraz but definitely less heavy than a pure Barossa. Need a few more years to soften the tannins and for the wine to come together.
