Decanted for 30 minutes with no sediment - more air than the 30 minute slo-ox of our previous bottle - and this bottle was even a tad better than that bottle enjoyed almost exactly 2 years ago. The nose offered up dark red and black fruits, earth, some cedar and some tobacco. These dark red and black fruits dominate the medium bodied palate, along with some earthy notes and touches of spice and tobacco. The acidity is nicely balancing and the tannins are completely integrated, making for a very smooth drink. This wine is ready to go, and should hold for another few years.

Slo-oxed for just over 30 minutes, but could have benefitted from an additional 30 minutes. The nose offered up blackberry, earth, and some cedar. Blackberry dominates the palate, along with other dark red fruits, and some earthy notes. The acidity is enough to balance and the tannins are integrated. This wine is ready to go and should hold for several more years.

Two hour decant time, this is solidly in its drinking window with blackberry, caramel and light cedar apparent in both nose and palate. Voluptuous tannins and balanced acidity hold up this full bodied, big mouthfeel of a wine with a medium finish. I always enjoy the 19 Block product.

Developed over time, following an hour decant, deep ruby, earthy nose, blackberry, cedar, balanced, tannins have mellowed, so drink this soon.
