Mature Cote de Beaune-Village 1992 is over the hill, but alive. Xeres notes, but later showed sweet aromas of candied cherry jam and silky light body on the palate.
This wine comes from own vines of Joseph Drouhin estate together with younger vines of well-known Close de Mouches and other declassified 1er Crus of Beaune.
Biodynamic winemaking, low yields.
Aged 12-15mo in 10% new oak.
That is 91-92pts wine when at its peak.

Sweet red fruits, sweet green herbs, but wanting more concentration. The wood masks the tertiary notes. The alcohol also is a little too present for something this delicate.

Rusty color. Good shape of wine. Starts declining slowly. Powerful tertiary aromas of boiled vegetables, mushrooms, old furniture. medium(+) acidity. Round, elegant. Compote of red berries. Cedar. That was a pure experiment of buying poor vintage of village appellation wine from a solid winemaker. 2 takeaways: 1) Choose the producer over the terroir. 2) It is safe to buy not so good vintage from a good winemaker.
