Really this is intended for much earlier drinking and has taken on some iffy lanolin type flavours to go with the strong citrus presence on the palate, which is fortunately well supported by a firm acid structure. The nose is still lively and fresh, showing some peach and hints of smoke. A tasty and very good value wine but not one which should be kept any longer.

Finally hitting its stride with a well delineated, crisp profile of citrus, bread and earth. I found this wine too austere on release. Turns out that it only needed some time to unwind. Very good value in dry riesling.

(Josef Leitz Riesling Trocken Eins Zwei Dry 3, Rheingau) Big peach, ripe apple, strong mineral, and generous white-flower aromas on the nose; notes of soft apples, sweet lemon, and pear nectar on the palate. This dry, clean, and bright Riesling has a leesy richness, surprising weight, and a long, balanced finish. Hot Picks
(Josef Leitz "Eins-Zwei-Dry - 3" QBA Trocken) Enter the first vintage of Josef Leitz "Eins-Zwei-Dry" - what a lovely wine! Crackling with minerality, some lime zest and pure sea and seashell aromas on the nose, this is a great intro into dry German Riesling and all the pleasures it can entail. This seems like it won't make old bones and is an ideal candidate for a summer sipper. This is crisp, cracklin' and almost has a Muscadet-like minerality that borders on saline. Also the price is right. A steal for wine of this quality and it actually is mostly sourced from an Erstes Gewachs (First Growth) site called Geisenheimer Rothenberg.

Saturday Outside; 10/23/2010-10/24/2010 (Beebe Back Yard): Very nice - Petrol & stone fruit on the nose. Medium body with a nice lingering finish and crisp minerality - everyone at dinner enjoyed this. Would buy again.

Savory saline note, tighly dry. Focused. Works at $15.

Had this with Northern Thai food. Great value, softer dry riesling with a bit of stone fruit and lime. Really a crowd-pleaser.
