  • This forced confinement is killing me. Another bottle that I think is no longer produced, which time has passed off and also its initial power, preserving some reminiscence of plums and minerals. All very soft, there is not a truly personality here neither a reflection of a surely (non-existent) terroir since some very young vines were used to elaborate this wine and of course the hand of the winemaker De Gregorio could only accentuate its masculinity in the early years. Aqueous texture, total imbalance between acidity and a practically non-existent structure. I believe those legal disputes between tenants and lessors of this winery continue. Upstarts with big day projects often end this way. Too bad. The food has been at a much higher level. Defined style is still in porsuit in Navarra and Aragón spite they've the complete set of potential elements.

  • Wow. Has it been nearly four years since I have popped a bottle of this wine that I purchased from Last Bottle way back in 2012? Clearly, I need to do a better job at cellar management. A surprisingly fruity elixir pours from this WAY too heavy bottle, with notes of anise, blackberry, and some red flower. I wrote seven years ago that this was a blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah, but I can not confirm that today. Some sites say it is Carignan, others claim Garnacha. What is it? I really have no idea, but given the flavor profile, I am leaning toward Grenache. Why? Simply put, "Garnacha" is a helluva a lot more fun to say than "Merlot." thedrunkencyclist.com

  • Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. This wine has a lot of interest. Initially, quite Bordeaux-like with funk, flowers, scorched earth, tar. With time, those actually subside and it's primarily fruit-driven, although in a pleasant ponderous way. 93 upon opening, 92 after a couple hours. Does this winery still exist? I see nothing on wine-searcher.

  • I have to say that this followed another Spanish wine that was really fantastic. This was by no means a slouch, but it started with a bit of Brett, which was slightly off-putting, but the inky-dark color spoke to the power underneath. Even over the few hours that it took to consume, the Brett lingered, though never overpowering. There was fruit and crispness, and plenty of depth. Not as fruity as the 100% Tempranillo we had earlier, but almost as tasty. thedrunkencyclist.com
