Popped and poured. This is surprisingly youtful and unevolved. Full bodied. Ripe black current, tobacco, herbs and earth. Fairly monolithic but start to develop more texture with air.

A nose that exudes cherry, fruit with just a hint of heat. I dislike the phrase "has a lot going on," but this applies perfectly to this wine. Cherry, spice, tobacco, cocoa. All wrapped up in a beautiful, smooth tannic delivery. Moderate to long finish. This is really a fun wine to drink and explore.

An evening with Annie Favia-Erikson in London: Last wine of the evening. More open and WOTN for us but unclear if this is more due to the age than the quality as every single of the other cuvees came from very young vintages. Some game on the nose which does remind me of other Cabernet Franc blends but in a more restrained style. Gamey fruit and dark chocolate and herbs. Nice wine but still young. Finish reasonably long but austere and gives the feeling of being somewhat truncated, preventing a higher score.

The aroma is soft and gentle; dark fruit, mocha, spice. The palate is softer than expected, the tannins have essentially resolved completely leaving a mellow wine. Notes of mocha, spice, cherry. The age has allowed some earthiness to integrate into its complexity. There is still some moderate acidity remaining giving the wine some nice structure. The finish is moderate. I had the 2012 a couple of nights ago and the difference is dramatic.

Great spot right now. Likely good for a decade or more. Cabernet Franc the lead here.
