Actually tasted the 2009 vintage. Good bargain Nebbiolo. Light in body with big flavor. Aroma of black cherry, sweet and candied. Flavor of dark berry and leather. Again there is a hint of sweet hard candy. Tannic and tart finish with dark chocolate aftertaste. Yummy.

Plump black cherry over slightly green and medicinal tannin. Losing fruit and interest by day 2. Solid, and relatively ripe, but far from complex. Drink up.

Certainly not what I'd expect from nebbiolo but enjoyable all the same. I wonder if I didn't know what the varietal was, if I would have even been able to guess. This wine showed raspberry jam, a freshly opened fruit cake when that first whiff of heat hits you, roses and undergrowth. On the palate, I found cherry pie which turns to sour raspberry, and herbal tea. High acidity works to keep this from becoming too much and leads to a long dark fruit finish with aggressive tannic structure that shuts your palate down on the close.
