  • The very last bottle of this wine did not have the "off" notes I smelled and tasted in the previous bottle. It was fruity - mostly dark fruits, but also some pie cherry - and fairly tart, but with very mild tannins. Enjoyable enough for drinking while reading a book; not so great for a heavy meal.

  • This is one of my last bottles of this home-made kit wine (the first I actually made at my home). The color of this wine is very dark purple/red. It smells primarily fruity, but also has a little "off" smell that dissipates some with decanting. It tastes primarily of dark fruit - dark cherries, currants - and has some decent soft tannins, but also has a bit of an "off" flavor that lingers. It is not to the point I would call it flawed, but it is less than fully pleasing to the nose and tongue.
