It’s been several years since I last tasted this wine and to my tastes, it has plateaued. It has a mid weight mouthfeel and there’s still plenty of earthy, fairly rustic red fruit, baking spice notes and Asian spice undertones. The tannins on the mid length finish are still fairly chalky and firm. This bottle seems to be abit flat compared to previous bottles, perhaps bottle variation, we’ll see. I have 1 bottle left and will let it lie for awhile

This was quite nice tonight after about 3 hours of air with an expressive nose of earthy, rustic, dark red fruit and lots of baking spice, all of which carry through to the deep, penetrating, midweight palate where there's a brisk acidic core and firmish, very slightly green, tannins on the long finish.

This was drinking very well tonight after about 3 hours of air and was displaying good depth and concentration to the midweight dark, red fruit with ample earth and sous bois notes. The tannins, while not intrusive, are still fairly firm and chalky. There's also a sauvage undertone lurking in the backround, adding another interesting nuance. All in all, this was quite nice and seems to have a lot of forward looking potential.

Flickinger "Significant Cellar" Tasting...the New Releases (Chicago, IL): black fruit aromas, spice hints, sauvage in background. Good weight and density, concentration really coming through on finish with lots of spice and nuance.
